HOW DO YOU GO OLD SCHOOL?

We do a lot of hymns, and when we teach new stuff it is usually from the 90s. Rarely do we do modern tunes.

So "going old school" is sort of where we live.

For us...it's doing a hymn. We do them relatively often, but folks still get so excited when it happens. (Like we never do them or something...)

And it can even be jazzed up versions...heck, it can even have new choruses and they STILL love them.

We play "Free Bird" from Lynard Skynard. And we did the 12 minute version. Thats about as "Old School" as we get. We did do a Doobie Bros. tune once. "Momma Told me" or something like that. Do I win the prize?

this one is hard for me, because i don't really keep up with new stuff as much as lots of worship leaders do. i do lots of old songs all the time. most of the people at my church don't listen to much Christian music, so there's just not a lot of pressure for me to be doing new stuff all that much. so i guess i'm sort of always doing old school.

but, if you're looking for a more specific answer, i do a lot of hymns. i love hymns.

Sorry I hit this one late.. A litte crazy and busy last week if you remember.

Old school? I guess I'm kina like RK. We're pretty old school all the time. I even blogged on that. I struggle pushing forward with new stuff. It's really like our church has a contemporary worship "hymnal" and of course we do hymns as well.
