Excellent worship this morning , Todd. I really enjoyed the song "Wash". It really expresses what people are looking for as they really dive into worship. My family all agreed that worship was excellent and it just really drew you into worshipping the Lord.
We opened with something Chris will remember and will probably cringe at but I love it.. We never named it but I call it "Nothing but the Blood Blues". It's Nothing but the blood of Jesus to a blues progression.. It's good for a prelude and it really woke everyone up. It's the 3rd time we've done it and and the congregation enjoys it.
Next was the Doxology. We rock this pretty good and of course the congregation knows it pretty well. We do a pretty cool Amen chorus at the end and end it acapella and the vocals today were awesome!!!
We had announcements, meet and greet, children's time and then came back with All Creatures and the response was awesome. The congregation sung out big time on the hallelujah chorus a la crowder then closed out worship with My Chains are gone which everyone loves singing.
We did The Wonderful Cross for communion and for our invitation song.
We had some holes today which is common but we had no bass player today. A couple of singers were gone to but the mix was good in the monitors and things really sounded good. Heard that from the congregation as well. There was great energy and Donna ran sound today and did a really good job. I'm pretty much convinced that my wife can do just about anything she wants to...
We usually practice on Wednesday nights but there were things that kept that from happening this week so we ran through everything this morning and it went very well. Mike played piano too and it really added some cool parts to the music.
Good, good day!!
Yeah..I know all hymns..
I'm beginning to re-think music for my congregation. After such a well received bluegrass Sunday and then this great morning of hymns I may start looking to do more and more hymns in a modern way...they are so well received. It may be the direction to go with my church family.
